Photographer
I came to the world of street photography later in life, after studying painting and drawing for many years. In 2015, when I found myself in an artistic slump, a friend suggested I take a photo course at the International Center of Photography. So I enrolled in one course and then another, eventually landing in a street photography class. It was then that I realized that this was it: this was my calling.
As a New Yorker, the genre of street photography was a natural fit. The frenetic pace of urban life, the blend of peoples and cultures, and the energy of unremitting commerce was my new canvas. With a camera in place of a paint brush, I could capture the endlessly fascinating drama unfolding in the public sphere.
