Portfolio Reviews & Visual Narrative Editing in Athens

Ximena Echagüe is a Belgian-Argentinian photographer whose work explores migration, urban life, and the human experience within cities in transformation. Her approach combines presence, empathy, and visual storytelling, focusing on what connects us beyond culture, geography, or background.

During her 1:1 sessions at ASPF, Ximena works closely with photographers, not only reviewing their portfolios but also helping them edit their material and uncover the visual narratives already present within their images. The focus is on coherence, intention, rhythm, and emotional depth, guiding them beyond strong individual photographs toward meaningful visual narratives.

Each portfolio review is conceived as a dialogue rather than a judgment: a space to reflect, ask questions, and reconnect with the reasons behind one’s photographic practice.

Who is this for?

Photographers - from emerging to more experienced - who want to better understand their work, strengthen their editing, and develop a clear visual narrative.

What to bring

A selection of 12–20 photographs that you feel represent your work.

This can be a project in progress, a coherent body of work, or photographs you’d like help editing and shaping. Images should be presented as small prints (A6 or similar), as the review will involve working physically with the photographs.
Come open to the possibility of discovering different narratives emerging from the same images.

What you’ll get

A one-to-one session focused on visual narrative editing, coherence, and intention. Together, we will read your images, identify hidden narratives, and clarify the direction of your work.
